The Ceremony Begins
Call in the darkness around and shut off all the external lights in your cave. Then tune into a small focused light, or candle, at the center of a circle.
Sit at the edge of the circle and invoke your Beloved sitting across from you (or be physically present in the room). Hold the heart of your Beloved in the center of the circle.
Sit quietly and invoke the natural biochemistry of your brain to kick out endorphins to create an altered state of consciousness. Listen for music in the background. Chant a monotone, “Om (aum).” Rock your body gently back and forth slowly. Reach out and hold both hands of your Beloved. Notice the sensation of warmth and energy flowing between you.
Then draw a card from the “Mayan Oracle” by Ariel Spilsbury and Michael Bryner. Place the cards on the altar in the center of the circle. Read them after the full moon ceremony is complete.
Concentrate on the small external light, the warmth and energy within and the two symbols before you. Continue to chant, rock slowly and notice each breath “in and out.” Be mindful of the breath and send a wave of loving kindness to your Beloved. Feel the connection with your Beloved’s heart. Feel the love flowing, growing, circulating and returning.
Imagine the luminescent glow of the Beloved’s face, transfigured, smiling and looking into your eyes. Feel the immense love for your Beloved welling up and overflowing in your heart. Send this huge love towards your Beloved and feel the returning.
Feel the longing for your Beloved grow until the moment of first sadness, or a tear drop, then stop and hold the breath, release the sadness and tears, stop and hold the breath for an eternity if you must. Release the sadness, tears and longing into the Great Mother Earth below your feet.
Continue this practice as many times as you desire until you can sustain the intense longing and love growing within your Beloved’s heart and your own. Remember there is only one of you. With your hands extended wash your physical body with this energy, nourishing each of the seven chakras in turn – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th.
Feel the energy and kundalini of your immense passion growing and rising within, then releasing this ecstasy through the 7th chakra or crown and returning to the heart of your Beloved. Feel the love and joy in the heart of your Beloved as you nourish each chakra in your Beloved’s body. Feel the connection with your Beloved’s heart, the love growing, flowing and returning.
Chant “I am Source” Repeat this chant over and over until you feel the oneness with the Great Being. Relax when ready into this altered state of consciousness and blow out the candle. Give thanks for the blessing of this day and this ceremony.
